Testimonies My Ghanaian Grandmother Told Me by Dzagbe Cudjoe is entire a well written collection of experiences. The Author shows thoughts and creativity , an all natural story-teller. This is intended to be an important children's book, having said that i found that it was a touch too detailed for a young child to read free of getting distracted. To obtain the this book for kids age 9 if not more.

A very nice resolve to the author papa included, and the novel design was fantastic. The picture included in the first story may be overly scary for some younger kids but all the people pictures would hook a child interest. I might have liked to obtain read more about the author for the sense of her example of Ghanaian culture. I hope in their own next book the lady includes a photo with a little background information on compact. These stories are from the mind of the Source, but reading him or her you would think they were truly stories passed down by using generations.

The first tale in this book will be "The Wicked Curse about Nibobobo" about a young man Fetu who wanted to marry Niniana a gal in his village although his father forbade the pup. The trouble that results from a curse manufactured in revenge by Nibobobo, the caretaker of Niniana, affects the main village. Fetu, Niniana, and a last character Ade then volunteer to take on the task associated with going to Great-Spirit-Who-Created-All-That-Is-On-This-Earth to remove typically the curse affecting all the village. The three will have to pass all the studies given to them to their journey to substantiate themselves worthy of the greater spirits help.

The subsequent story "Akua Foolish Wish" went into too much characteristic on the making for clay pots and a child may weary in the story prior to to the actual plot of Akua. Once it's into the story associated with Akua and her need that the commemorative figure this wounderful woman has made of a great chief can speak then your story moves around well. The story is usually humorous and children will cherish the rest of the tale.

"The Fingers of Fire story" is, by far, my favorite story in the whole e-book. A tale of Falisimu great growing up in his Large Bendu home. The story explains how he entered his uncle care and attention and met Laliya a girl close to Falisimu age. It is into detail of what the lives belonging to the children and adults were like with Northern Ghana which was important. It is an imaginative along with spiritual story of two children putting together an invention with the aid of voices of fire and earth in addition to finding out it implement for the good of their.

The final story "Journey In the Chest Of Gold" was initially rather odd and even out of place compared with the opposite stories in this booklet. I didn get the point of time traveling school trips and being invisible. Time travel could be interesting as a account in itself but in comparison to the other stories it did not fit with the internet prostitution a grandmother would definitely tell about fallacies and legends involving Ghanaian culture. The speaking gold weights constructed no sense what ever to me either. Youngsters might enjoy the inanimate objects talking to one other but overall the storyplot was just strange. Nevertheless last three portraits at the end of this scenario including actual silver weights was a a revelation bonus.
